Not only did the current owners redefine home comforts in this Traditional dwelling located on one of Silver Lake’s best streets – they made skinny-dipping optional. About 12 years ago, Marc and Dave set their eyes on this home located a short distance from the Silver Lake reservoir.
With many buyers competing for ownership, they were initially outbid in multiple offers. The home was a fixer with an addition that confused the floor plan. The first buyers couldn’t understand what to do with it, so they canceled escrow.
The home returned to the market only for Marc and Dave to lose it in another round of multiple offers. Escrow canceled again as these buyers couldn’t figure out how to incorporate the addition into the house. And then it happened again. As escrow after escrow fell apart, the then-owners recognized that Marc and Dave kept returning and decided to give them a chance.
Unlike all the previous buyers, they knew exactly what to do with their future home. They immediately decided the addition had to go. This exposed the home’s rich architectural bones and made adding modern updates easier.
While the interior is filled with a remodeled kitchen, updated bathrooms, and a versatile space that can be used as a media, office, gym, or play area for the little ones, their best design decision was completely overhauling the yard and adding a swimmers pool.
Shade-tolerant plants, shrubs, vibrant flowers, and carefully placed lights decorate the entire exterior, allowing dining and lounging near a fire pit.
