Barbara Bestor

Barbara Bestor is a Los Angeles based architect best known for signature style, Bohemian Modern.

She is the principal of Bestor Architecture, founded in 1992.

Bestor is no stranger to working on newsworthy projects. They include the Beats by Dre Headquarters in Culver City, the Nasty Gal Headquarters in downtown Los Angeles, Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea in Los Angeles, the Clare Vivier store in Silver Lake, Lou Wine Shop in Los Feliz, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, and Trina Turk’s flagship store in Palm Springs.

And while she’s overhauled private dwellings in Echo Park, Pacific Palisades, Mount Washington, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Topanga Canyon, and Santa Barbara her most praiseworthy are restoring two John Lautner structures: the Jules Salkin residence in Echo Park and Silvertop, known more formally as the Reiner-Burchill Residence, in Silver Lake.

Bestor has also worked on a small lot development called Blackbirds that hit the market with rave reviews.

Here you’ll find a list of modern homes for sale in Los Angeles. And, who knows, one may even be a Bestor.
