Built between 1939 and 1940, the four-unit building, the T. S. Falk Apartments, sits on a sloping, triangular lot at 3631 Carnation Ave, a short distance from the architect’s Bubeshko and Manola Court, aka Sachs Apartments.
Considered one of Schindler’s most complex hillside designs, the International-style complex consists of three levels, with each residence oriented to “fit into a small, sloped site while retaining a sense of privacy and outdoor space for each apartment. All four units have a private roof terrace connected by a small courtyard accessed from the street.”
