We’re pretty sure whoever said money can’t buy happiness never saw this dreamy two-house compound on 3.5 acres in Beverly Hills.

Oak Pass House in Beverly Hills

Known as the Oak Pass House, 9601 Oak Pass Road was designed and constructed by Walker Workshop “a Los Angeles based Architecture firm established in 2010 with the purpose of creating modern structures that are warmly minimal with careful considerations of light, space and the unique qualities of each project’s location.”

Developed “for a concert violinist who wanted a quiet place where he can host private classical-music performances” the main residence, built primarily of structural concrete and glass, sits on a ridge blending in beautifully with the surrounding landscape filled with 130 majestic, live oak trees.

Architect Noah Walker explains, ”It was a critical aspect of the design to make the large house seem as diminutive and sewn into the landscape as possible.”

To achieve this he utilized an upside down floor plan to divide 8,000 square feet on two floors where the public spaces sit above the bedrooms, “… which are buried into the hill and protected beneath a vegetated roof. A lower level courtyard allows light and air to flow to the buried hallway of the bedroom level.”

Architectural delights include a 75-foot lap pool with infinity edges positioned under one of the largest oak trees on the property, soaring floor-to-ceiling walls of glass, canyon views from nearly every window and angle, and a separate guest house, built in 2013, with two en-suite bedrooms and a chef’s kitchen.

Last sold in 2013 for $20 million, the property is listed for $32 million.
